Voice dictation · Crush
Voice dictation for Crush.
Crush, Charm’s terminal coding agent, has no voice input. Copy That adds it: press one button on your iPhone or Apple Watch, talk, and your prompt is pasted into Crush on your Mac.

Copy that. Pasted into Crush
Crush has no built-in dictation. A feature request (#3918, September 2026) proposes a keybinding that runs your own dictation command and inserts its output; it’s still open.
As of October 2026.
- Exactly what #3918 asks for, today: a dictation tool that pastes into Crush’s composer.
- Transcribed on your Mac with Whisper, so no audio goes to a speech service and there’s no speech API key to set up.
- One button on your phone or watch instead of a hotkey, and you can talk from across the room.
- Works with every model and provider you use in Crush.
- Push.
One button on your Apple Watch or iPhone.
- Talk.
Say the prompt, anywhere, on any network.
- Paste.
Your Mac transcribes it and pastes it into Crush.
- Does Copy That work with Crush?
- Yes. Copy That pastes your transcribed words into whatever app is in front on your Mac, so it works with Crush with no plugin or setup inside Crush.
- Does Crush have voice input?
- No. Crush has no built-in dictation as of October 2026; the feature request (#3918) is open.
- How do I dictate prompts into Crush on a Mac?
- Use a dictation tool that pastes into the focused terminal. Copy That does this from your iPhone or Apple Watch, with Whisper running on your Mac.
- Do my iPhone and Mac need to be on the same Wi-Fi?
- No. Recordings go through your own private iCloud, so your phone can be on cellular in a café while your Mac is at home. The Mac just needs to be awake and online.
- Where is my voice transcribed?
- On your Mac, with Whisper. Audio passes through your own iCloud account and is never sent to a speech-to-text service.
- What does it cost?
- The iPhone and Mac apps are free. The Apple Watch app is a one-time $4.99. There is no subscription.
