Voice dictation for Windsurf (now Devin Desktop).

Windsurf is now Devin Desktop, and the Cascade chat with its mic button is gone. Copy That gives you voice in whichever agent or editor you use there: press one button on your iPhone or Apple Watch, talk, and it’s pasted on your Mac.

Windsurf’s built-in voice today

Windsurf added voice input to Cascade in July 2025. On 2 June 2026 Windsurf was renamed Devin Desktop, and Cascade was removed in v3.9.19 (September 2026), leaving Devin Local as the agent. Devin Local’s docs don’t mention voice input.

Does Copy That work with Windsurf?
Yes. Copy That pastes your transcribed words into whatever app is in front on your Mac, so it works with Windsurf with no plugin or setup inside Windsurf.
Does Windsurf have voice input?
Cascade had a mic button from July 2025. Windsurf is now Devin Desktop, Cascade was removed in September 2026, and voice input for Devin Local isn’t documented.
Is Windsurf now Devin Desktop?
Yes. Windsurf was renamed Devin Desktop on 2 June 2026, and the macOS app is now Devin.app.
Do my iPhone and Mac need to be on the same Wi-Fi?
No. Recordings go through your own private iCloud, so your phone can be on cellular in a café while your Mac is at home. The Mac just needs to be awake and online.
Where is my voice transcribed?
On your Mac, with Whisper. Audio passes through your own iCloud account and is never sent to a speech-to-text service.
What does it cost?
The iPhone and Mac apps are free. The Apple Watch app is a one-time $4.99. There is no subscription.
