Copy That
Voice dictation · Goose

Voice dictation for Goose.

Goose Desktop can take dictation; the Goose CLI can’t. Copy That gives you voice in both: press one button on your iPhone or Apple Watch, talk, and the prompt is pasted into Goose on your Mac.

Goose’s built-in voice today

Goose Desktop has voice dictation with a provider you choose: local Whisper on your device, or ElevenLabs, Groq or OpenAI with an API key. The docs say voice dictation isn’t available in the Goose CLI.

As of October 2026.

Why Copy That with Goose
  • Voice in the Goose CLI, which has none.
  • Transcribed on your Mac with Whisper, like Goose Desktop’s local option, with nothing to configure.
  • One button on your phone or watch instead of a hotkey, and you can talk from across the room.
  • One button for Goose and every other app on your Mac.
How it works
  1. Push.

One button on your Apple Watch or iPhone.

  2. Talk.

Say the prompt, anywhere, on any network.

  3. Paste.

Your Mac transcribes it and pastes it into Goose.

Questions
Does Copy That work with Goose?
Yes. Copy That pastes your transcribed words into whatever app is in front on your Mac, so it works with Goose with no plugin or setup inside Goose.
Does Goose have voice input?
Goose Desktop does, with local Whisper or ElevenLabs, Groq or OpenAI. The Goose CLI has no voice dictation.
Can I dictate to the Goose CLI?
Yes, with Copy That: it pastes your transcribed prompt into the terminal where Goose is running.
Do my iPhone and Mac need to be on the same Wi-Fi?
No. Recordings go through your own private iCloud, so your phone can be on cellular in a café while your Mac is at home. The Mac just needs to be awake and online.
Where is my voice transcribed?
On your Mac, with Whisper. Audio passes through your own iCloud account and is never sent to a speech-to-text service.
What does it cost?
The iPhone and Mac apps are free. The Apple Watch app is a one-time $4.99. There is no subscription.
